Once known as Zielgerade2030, now Zielgerade360!

Zielgerade360 combines a clear path toward the lowest possible emissions with a holistic, ongoing 360-degree process. In this way, the alliance creates a long-term vision for genuinely ambitious climate management and economic resilience that goes beyond the year 2030..

Zielgerade360 – the alliance initiative

Climate change is emerging as one of the greatest global challenges of our time. Unprecedented climate warming due to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions is threatening our habitats and ecosystems. Scientific assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) strongly reveal the global dangers such as drought and heavy rain.

However, certain future scenarios depending on the development of global greenhouse gas emissions make it clear that we can limit the consequences of climate change through decisive and timely action. The Paris Agreement was put in place to limit the global average temperature increase to well below 2°C, preferably to 1.5°C.Industrialised nations, in particular, bear a special responsibility here. In order to achieve the climate targets, strong emission reductions in the various sectors will be necessary in the years to come.

Our alliance initiative Zielgerade360 ties in with the aim of accompanying organisations on their way to achieving carbon neutrality, e. g. by starting with an initial Corporate carbon footprint calculation according to GHG Protocol in order to find effective reduction measures to successively lower the carbon footprint.

The alliance started with local companies in the Southern Upper Rhine region, currently including more than 15 companies from different industries.

Maximum CO2e Reduction in a Five-Stage Cycle

Der The entire process is simple and transparent. It helps your company identify CO2e emissions, reduce them, take responsibility for remaining emissions, and credibly communicate your achievements to the outside world.

Kreisprozess auf Englisch

Calculate & Analyze Emissions

What causes the most emissions, and where is the greatest potential for reduction? How far have you come on your CO2e reduction path? And how high will you set the bar for next year? Your annual Corporate carbon footprint—which includes Scope 1, 2, and 3—enables you to develop tailored and efficient action plans and conduct further detailed analyses.

Set & Track Reduction Targets

A customized reduction plan helps you permanently reduce your own greenhouse gas emissions. Aligned with the internationally recognized Science Based Targets (SBT), the plan recommends ambitious and binding targets that are consistent with the Paris Agreement. This way, you’ll achieve your personal best, year after year.

Reducing Emissions

Now that you’re well-prepared thanks to your carbon footprint and reduction plan, you know which levers to pull to optimize your energy balance and reduce ghg emissions: The customized set of measures has provided you with specific recommendations for action. Now it’s time to pool all your resources, implement these measures, and actually realize the potential for savings.

Fund Climate Protection Projects

Even at the finish line, it’s not possible to completely avoid CO2e emissions. Instead of offsetting the remaining emissions, set your own price for them and use the proceeds to fund climate protection projects outside your own value chain, starting no later than 2030. Taking responsibility – that’s better than a gold medal! We’re here to advise you.

Communicate Transparently

You’ve cleared the bar and successfully reduced your ghg emissions. You deserve a round of applause before you move on to the next round. Use the delivered data & figures to share what you’ve achieved. This will make you a role model for others and an attractive partner for sustainability-minded business partners. Applause!

Our standards on the way to Net Zero

Considered emission sources

The accounting of scope 3 emissions is very individual for each company, and data collection in particular can be very complex and challenging. We therefore always start the data collection process with a start balance framework (SBF), in which Scope 1 and 2 are directly fully considered. All other significant activities occurring in Scope 3 are considered and evaluated within a significance analysis based on GHG Protocol / ISO 14064-1.

Targets for your entire value chain

For the next steps, we strongly recommend setting own official reduction targets, align with the SBTi covering all Scope 1, 2 and also all significant Scope 3 emission categories.
